Meet the Teacher/Director
MS. LisaRenee
I can't wait to meet you soon! Let me tell you a little about myself.
I married my husband in 2003 and we have two children: James my step son who lives on his own now, and Aiden who lives with us. I homeschooled my son and now his last year in school he is a Senior. I have a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Early Childhood. I have taught pre-school for 17 plus years. When I'm not teaching, my family and I enjoy hiking around the Hudson valley, reading, and gardening.
This is my 19th year as an educator and my 3rd year as a Co-op director, and I absolutely love the excitement in my students eyes when we do SCIENCE, cooking, play outside or go on a field trip. My favorite part is seeing my students' eyes light up when they grasp a new concept. It's so magical! I truly feel that teaching is my calling in life, and I can't wait to teach your little one. I can't wait to meet you!
My husband is a beekeeper and we have honeybees here at the home.

Often known as “Free Play” or “Play Time,” our many centers include Dramatic Play, Sensory, Art, Building, Literacy, Writing, and Science. Our Home school Co-op feature lots of fun science experiments! We use ABC boot camp to help introduce letters and sounds( we work on reading). They can choose to paint, do puzzles, and so much more during this time. In February we work on sight words in a non stressed way. Older children work on phonics, journals and Math. We do a lot of STEM and science experiments with the older children. We just were able to purchase a light table in March with our pickle fundraiser.

We aim to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners by actively exploring their environment.
In fact, one of the best ways we can teach is to ask THEM questions. "What are you creating?" "How does it work?" "Tell me about what you drew." etc.
Our Mission statement or Philosophy
is inspired by Charlotte Mason, Montessori, unschooling and The Reggio Emilia Approach beliefs.
Our view on children is understanding the children's strengths. We look at struggles and mistakes as positive, creative opportunities for learning and growth.
We believe students desire to have a right to autonomy, self-direction, and choices in their development of lifelong learning.
We love to get messy, and the best time for that is at art time! We focus on the process, not the end product, and use a wide variety of art materials.
Most parents love for their child to experience Messy but they don't want to do it at
their home, Your children
can do it at the co-op.
Messy slime, mud kitchen and Sensory tables
along with process art.
OLDER Children also do Directed Drawing and product crafts.
We are doing weaving, sewing, painting and more.
Children learn SO MUCH MORE when they have the chance to explore and play without rules of what art "should" look like at the end.
Every few weeks, we dive deep into a new, exciting theme based on our upcoming field trips, the weather, holidays, or whatever the children are telling me they are interested to learn more about.
